My time with Fundación Adelante began in March 2008 when I started volunteering with the micro-credit and education non-profit organization. I had been living and working in La Ceiba, on the north coast of Honduras, since August 2007, when I arrived to volunteer for an environmental non-governmental organization. I was captivated by the sun, the sea, and the abundant tropical woods that climb the mountains that back on to the city, as well as overwhelmed by the dynamic, entangled and often difficult history and socio-economic context of this rich country. Living in Honduras and working with environmental and social NGOs has been a powerful learning experience, one that I look forward to continuing with Fundación Adelante. In this blog, I hope to share my experiences and reflections as I work with and learn about Adelante and their efforts to affect positive change in Honduran communities.
I love the blog and would like to get an email each time that its updated. Can you add this feature? The information is great and the insights help in other projects we are working on in Honduras as well.
Thanks for doing this.
